So I just built myself a DELICIOUS new PC. I have this disgustingly sweet Antec silver case thing, and one of the key features of it is that it has a seperate chamber at the bottom for the hard disks and PSU, so that the hard disks are thermally isolated from the heat of the motherboard, CPU and graphics. Clever huh?

So my mother board (some ASUS A8N thing) is also pretty clever. They put the power connector right at the top of the board, so that it’s right next to where the PSU would normally be, for neatness, tidyness, and better air flow.

Herein lies the problem. My case has the PSU at the bottom. But the motherboard is still the usual way up. By some miracle, the power connector JUST ABOUT stretches to reach, and plugs in. But the 12v 4-pin thing for the CPU doesn’t. At all. It nearly does; but nearly is not does. And with a graphics card in, it doesnt even nearly.

Well damn, now that did annoy me somewhat.

SO I BUSTED OUT MY CHAINSAW AND IRON FOUNDY, AND MADE MYSELF SOME HAIR EXTENSIONS!£&!^£

required tools:

• 1 roll of wire
• 1 soldering iron
• 1 roll of solder
• electrical tape (to patch up the wounds)
• pair of scissors (to cut the wires)
• teeth (to strip the wires)

hey presto. I feel like a Victorian surgeon…
